Speaking of powerful racial powers: The absolute powerhouse must be the Nix Runecaster: I just pulled off three fireblasts in one fight with one!!
Luckily fireblasts aren't showstoppers, so it doesn't make the combat ridiculously boring.
And perhaps for the Beacon and/or Vanguard. Sorta fits their roles.
Heh, the True Bow ought to be able to pull off an overwatch attack on his own turn, shooting at an opponent up to two paces out of range, and that opponent then has to move into range and get hit, using their actions! :D
That would be insane, but fun!
I understand that equipment is now part of character progression... but I would love it if the locations were more than just quest lists, if we could explore them, take on certain tasks (random, win or lose - no retries, no level progress - but), earn and spend money... stuff like that, that would be nice.
If you know the old, old game Darklands, then you'll know exactly the kind of thing I mean. The cities in that game are essentially point-shaped menus, but they're storied into feeling real...
Ok, that can be tough with coordinating all the people, but if it wasn't a "present activity" but rather something that can go on in the background, like a game of correspondence chess, then even big parties can slug it out - if they realize that they shouldn't necessarily expect fast action.
