  1. Add exploratory encounters with larger maps and not just enemies

I'd really like to see exploratory encounters, where there are no foes on the map at first, but other things to interact with, while still being map/turn-based rather than text/choice-based. Enemies could then arrive, materialise or otherwise be come across.

This would work even better if the maps were scrollable, so that you could move over more terrain than is usually visible on one map, possibly revealing enemies or other interactable squares as you go. This would feel much more like a traditional tabletop rpg.

  4. add an out-of-character option in the chat window

It would be nice to have an out-of-character option in the chat window - perhaps a toggle button - that would put the text in italics with your user name at the front, rather than your character name.

  5. More storylines please, more quests

The storyline that currently exists is awesome and provides some ample game time, but more should be done in the way of quests and different story lines. Maybe extend the map a bit to the north or west? Just thoughts.

  6. Once a majority decision is reached, don't wait around for the other players to vote

They can't affect the outcome, so log a decision and don't make everyone wait for the last member to do it.

By the end of this month (August), we will be running a Kickstarter, and voting is one area we plan to enhance with funds we raise – including speedier vote resolution. We’ll have more details when the Kickstarter begins.

  7. add an option to see the dice roll when you attack

Dice rolling was always a lot of fun playing a tabletop game. It would be cool to have the option (would simply be a matter of choice) to see what you have rolled. This would also be useful to help figure out your best course of action based on the likelihood that you are going to hit the target.

  8. Allow party leaders to adjust the time limit between actions.

Sometimes you just want a quick dungeon romp. Let them enter the number of minutes they want to wait between actions, ranging from 1 to 1440.

It’s very likely we will make a change along these lines. There are some complications to work out, most importantly how to make sure parties don’t get auto-advanced through many rounds while players are asleep (without forcing them to constantly remember to change their time limit before bedtime). We have some ideas here, but also encourage you to post your own solutions.

  9. change how actions work during combat

If another player acts while you're taking your action, it resets your action for that turn. While the ability to reconsider your action in the light of further moves is a good idea, an option to just confirm your previous action would also be nice.

Conflicts during action-taking no longer require an extra click to acknowledge the conflict, which should make them less annoying. Action-taking still requires a click to begin so that you can see the details of what just happened, but we’re considering whether we should streamline this further.

  10. It would be nice if you could add more character portraits, or maybe a color slider for the current ones.

I starting playing this game with a few of my friends and we all picked Mezoars. This wasn't intentional, we all thought the Mezoars looked the most interesting and it was a coincident. Two of us are sharing the same portrait and on the battle screen it's a little hard to tell the two apart at first glance. Would it be possible to add a color shader for the unit portraits, or maybe let people customize them?

  11. Implement Arena / Gauntlet mode

Currently, there's little for characters to do once they've completed the available adventures or reached the effective level cap. Additionally, quests have little to no replay value, as they're the same each time you play them. I propose an arena or gauntlet style quest or game mode wherein the group is pitted against increasingly difficult groups of enemies, randomly chosen, on a randomly chosen terrain map. Ideally, rewards would be given based on how far a group made it before being defeated. It would also lend itself to a leader board or 'hall of fame' so to speak.

    The benefit…

  12. More visible hazards

This is like, the fifth time I've stepped on a tile with flame. Dark gray over a slightly lighter gray is really difficult to see unless you're specifically keeping an eye out for it. How about giving it some color or a yellow outline or something?

We’ve made all the terrain icons a little more opaque to make them stand out more. We’re also looking at giving certain of the dimmer ones brighter colors.

  15. Allow minor and major actions to be taken in either order

I would see something where you can reorganize the order of the Minor and Major Actions.

  16. Allow a major action to take a minor action.

Sometimes, you want to take two minor actions. This isn't an order option, this is a sacrifice a major for an additional minor action.

  17. Disable music but not sound

I'd often like to listen to my own music while playing, or leave the Conclave tab open in my browser while doing other things (visiting YouTube, etc.). The persistent music is a problem in these circumstances. However, I'd still like to get the game sound effects. It would be cool to split these out into two mute buttons so you could mute just one or the other rather it being all or nothing.

  18. Add a Nethack-like component as a randomly generated adventure location on the map.

Nethack and Rogue-like games are awesomely addictive, although they are just ASCII (or, in certain cases, ANSI) graphics. The addictiveness, other than heavy RPG-like customisable elements, probably stems from the randomness factor of the game.

How about making a 'maze' or something similar, which would be randomly generated, which players could use to entertain themselves when they've completed all the prior quests (or, failing that, to help themselves level up so they can achieve previously unachievable quests)?

There they can find random objects, fight with monsters of their level (or the level of the party), gain levels, and so on.

I would like to see tile markers for ranged attacks, something that would let me know when my hunting bow is in range.

  20. Allow users to rearange the order of skills in the action bar

As you gain more skills, some will not fit in the 5 slots that we currently have in the action bar, so to access certain skills we need to click the arrow to scroll.
It's awfully inconvenient if one of the main skills is hidden like that.

By allowing players to chose the location of each skill, a greater sense of character customization is achieved along with better combat flow and lack of annoyance at the interface.
